And Nathanael said to him, “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and see.”

John 1:46

One of the struggles we might often have to deal with is the condemnation that the enemy repeatedly tries to bring up for what we did in the past. As a result, we might often look at ourselves and wonder if we’re good enough to be instrumental in the hands of the Lord. But the truth is that when you’re following God and allowing Him to do the pruning and directing of your life—it does not matter where you come from, it does not matter what your history looks like, it does not matter how many people might have written you off—He can turn it all around and tell a story of victory with your life.

But, on our part, we must make sure we do not give in to the whispers of the devil that try to tell us we cannot rise above where we have been. It is not valid. The Bible says, “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.” Rom. 8.1-2.

This means we are free from any law that demands retribution when we are in Christ. So, therefore, hold on to that. Resist the devil’s taunting, hold on to the word of God, and watch how beautiful God makes your life.

Prayer

  1. Lord, help me to trust what You say about me, even in the face of difficulties and opposition.
  2. Dear Father, I ask for strength to resist the devil’s condemnation of me continually.
  3. Lord, thank you for the perfect and beautiful story you’re working out with my life.
