“O house of Jacob, come ye and let us walk in the light of the Lord!”
Isaiah 2:5
What a glorious hope everyone has today! Right from the moment Adam sinned against God, the entire race of man was plunged into the abyss of utter darkness. Man became enslaved to sin as a result of the fall. However, thanks be to God, who loves man beyond words. He sacrificed His one and only Son for the remission of sin of the whole world. Now, the entire race of man has hope. What a glorious hope, indeed!
Jesus Christ is the light of the world. Sin brings about darkness. Anyone who sins is in darkness and is a slave to sin. But there is an invitation today: “Come ye and let us walk in the light of the Lord.” That is a glorious invitation indeed. If you still find yourself bound to sin, all you need do is to accept this invitation wholeheartedly. If you find living a consistent life with God challenging, you only need to allow Jesus to shed His light across your path.
Why should everyone accept this invitation to walk in the light of God? It is because no other light is compared to the light of God. Have you ever experienced a power outage where you live? I have, and I can tell you it wasn’t a pleasant experience. I wouldn’t say I like it when I don’t see light around me. Now, that is natural light.
But today, God is inviting everyone yet to walk in God’s supernatural light to come. Will you heed the call?
Prayer
- Dear Lord, please help me to come into the light of your salvation.
- Lord, help me teach me not to sway into darkness anymore.
- I refuse to be an instrument of darkness in Jesus’ name.
