“Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee.”
Psalms 73:25
The whole life of a Christian should be nothing but praises and thanks to God. True worshippers are not those who worship God when they feel like worshipping Him, but those who worship God irrespective of the circumstances surrounding them.
God wants all His children to glorify and magnify Him. So, how do we magnify God? We magnify God when we exalt Him in our souls above all creatures. We will magnify God when we know we have no one besides Him. When we glorify God, we show Him He’s our All.
As Christians, we mustn’t glory in anything besides God. To glory in any creature whatsoever is idolatry. All our glory must be to God. Jeremiah 9:23 says, “Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches.”
The body may not always find it easy to worship God; she finds it challenging most of the time. But this life we live is not for the body but the soul. Our body is just like a cloth; the real being is underneath that cloth called the soul. Therefore, the soul should speak to the body and ensure she is put under subjection.
To enjoy eternal fellowship with God in heaven, you must ensure you worship Him here on earth. Finally, the chief end of a man is to glorify God irrespective of his situation.
Prayer
- Dear Father in heaven, please help me to live a life of worship always in the name of Jesus.
- Please allow me to worship you irrespective of my circumstances.
- Lord, please help the gospel ministers and your children worldwide to worship you in your way and not ungodly manner.
