“And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.”
Mark 10:51
Imagine a situation where you were offered a blank cheque to fill in any amount of money you would love to have. The blind man in the scripture above found himself in such a situation. Jesus offered him a blank cheque, but he only asked for one thing—to receive his sight.
Sometimes, we might feel we’re belabouring God by asking Him too many requests or by telling Him to grant our deepest desires, but that is not true. No doubt, if the blind man had asked Jesus to heal, bless, and made him prosper, Jesus would have done it; but he only asked for one request.
Jesus is capable of granting our deepest desires. We cannot ask Him for too much. He can do far more than we can ask of Him. So, when we pray to God, we should open our hearts and ask for our deepest desires. He said if we ask Him anything, He would do it for us (Matt. 7:7). He wasn’t mincing words when He said that. His words are ever true till this moment.
Dear friend, Jesus is offering you a blank cheque today, what are your requests?
