“And they turned aside thither, to go in and to lodge in Gibeah: and when he went in, he sat him down in a street of the city: for there was no man that took them into his house to lodging. And, behold, there came an old man from his work out of the field at even, which was also of mount Ephraim; and he sojourned in Gibeah: but the men of the place were Benjamites.”

Judges 19:15-16

This passage paints a vivid picture: travellers in need, a city full of people, yet no one was willing to open their doors. It was only one man—an older worker returning from the fields—who noticed and acted.

God values the one who steps forward. In a world where many turn away, the Lord honours the person who chooses compassion. Hospitality as a ministry of welcoming others is not just kindness; it is a reflection of God’s heart.

When we open our homes, give our time, or our attention, we become vessels of His love. And these small acts carry eternal weight. Your daily choices to care for others can be the very thing God uses to change lives.

Charge: Ask God to give you the courage to act when others turn away, and let your life reflect His hospitality and love.
