“And the LORD said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh: for I have hardened his heart, and the heart of his servants, that I might shew these my signs before him:”

Exodus 10:1

A young businessman was warned repeatedly by mentors and elders about a risky investment. Confident in his own understanding, he ignored their counsel, thinking he was wiser. Eventually, the venture collapsed, and everyone around him learned a lesson—except him. He became an example of misfortune.

Like Pharaoh, there are seasons when God chooses to demonstrate His power—not always through blessing, but sometimes through judgment. Pharaoh’s pride, stubbornness, and refusal to submit made him an instrument of God’s wrath, a warning to all who would harden their hearts.

Exodus 10:1 reveals a sobering truth: being resistant to God does not diminish His authority; it only places you on the side of misfortune. God’s signs and wonders, in such cases, are not blessings, they are evidence of His power to judge. The unfortunate are not merely the weak or unfaithful, but the hardened hearts that refuse correction and continue in rebellion.

Charge: Pride and stubbornness can make you an unfortunate example. Submit today, so God uses you for His glory, not as a warning to others.
