“The Lord openeth the eyes of the blind: the Lord raiseth them that are bowed down: the Lord loveth the righteous. The Lord preserveth the strangers; he relieveth the fatherless and widow: but the way of the wicked he turneth upside down.”

Psalm 146:8-9

I once read a book authored by one of America’s God’s servants, Dr. Michael Guido. After the death of his parents, his younger brother exclaimed in agony: I am now an orphan. I have no one. To which Evangelist Michael, his elder brother, immediately replied, “But you have Audrey and me.” And that response calmed the young man and gave him the assurance that he still had his older brother to hold his hand.

If a simple reassurance from a man could calm another man, how much more an assurance from the Creator of the Universe? The Lord is the sovereign King over all creation. He is not a distant observer but an active, personal God who intervenes in the lives of His people. His eyes are ever watchful, seeking those who are oppressed, broken, or in despair.

His love is not partial. He upholds the righteous, preserves the stranger, and shows compassion to the vulnerable — the fatherless and the widow. In contrast, the path of the wicked is marked by instability, for the Lord turns it upside down.

Charge: No situation is too complex, no heart too broken, and no life too small for the Lord’s attention. In every season, His dominion is evident: He sees, He cares, He acts.
