“Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.”
Isaiah 7:14
Joy was on the bus home when she received the news: the company was downsizing, and her name was on the list. She felt her heart drop. Suddenly, a flood of worries rushed in—bills, rent, family responsibilities. Tears filled her eyes; but as she wiped them, a verse she learned as a child echoed in her heart: “Immanuel — God with us.”
She whispered it repeatedly. “God with me… God with me…” Peace settled over her like a warm blanket. She didn’t know how things would turn out, but she knew Who was with her. Remarkably, that same week, a friend connected her to an opening in a better firm—one that offered double the pay and better conditions.
Immanuel is not just a Christmas name. It is God’s daily assurance that you are never abandoned. His presence changes fear into faith, crisis into testimony, and darkness into direction.
Charge: Whatever you face today, whisper it boldly: “God is with me.”
