“For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.”

2 Peter 2:20

There is a quiet danger many believers underestimate and that is the danger of going back to what God once delivered them from. Do you know the enemy does not mind your escape; he minds your return? Because every return tightens the chains twice as hard.

Think of Lot’s wife. God, in mercy, pulled her family out of Sodom. The path ahead was freedom, safety, and a new beginning. But her heart still longed for what God had rescued her from. One backward glance turned her from a traveller into a memorial. Her story reminds us that when God brings you out, He expects your heart to move forward too.

Maybe God has freed you from a habit, a relationship, a mindset, or a destructive pattern. But recently, the pull of your old life has been whispering again. Returning may feel familiar, but I want you to know it is fatal. What once wounded you will destroy you if you go back.

Charge: What lies ahead is always better than what God asked you to leave behind.
