“Seek ye the Lord, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the Lord’s anger.”
Zephaniah 2:3
In our world filled with chaos, pride, and rebellion against God, there is still a place of refuge—under the shadow of His mercy. The prophet Zephaniah delivered a sobering message of judgment, yet within it, God extended a tender call: “Seek the Lord… seek righteousness, seek meekness.” It was an invitation to find safety, not through wealth or status, but through humble surrender and obedience.
God’s mercy is not distant or selective. It is near to those who seek Him with a contrite heart. The meek are those who yield to His will, who choose humility over arrogance, and righteousness over compromise. Such hearts become hidden in His mercy when the storms of life or divine judgment come.
To find refuge under His mercy is to rest in His grace, trusting that His love covers, forgives, and restores. Even in times of correction, His mercy provides a shield for those who seek Him earnestly. Today, seek the Lord with sincerity. Let your heart be humble, your walk righteous, and your faith steadfast.
Charge: In seeking the Lord, you will discover that the safest place to be is under the covering of His unfailing mercy.
