“Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the Lord’s wrath.”

Zephaniah 1:18a

A wealthy but fearful man hired top security to protect himself, yet an enemy used a genetically modified insect to deliver a toxin that led to his death. Just as he trusted in his security, many people place their faith in material possessions—wealth, influence, and power. However, God’s Word teaches that these cannot save us when judgment comes.

Wealth may provide temporary comfort, but when life’s storms or final judgment occur, only those anchored in Christ will remain steadfast. Salvation is a gift received through faith in Jesus, not something that can be purchased.

Instead of trusting in fleeting things, lay up treasures in heaven. Seek the Lord while He can be found, for in Him lies eternal security. In times of trial, His mercy will be your refuge and salvation.

Charge: True safety is found only in a life surrendered to Jesus.
