“Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the Lord of hosts.”
Malachi 3:1
It is already an established pattern that before a king arrives, the road must be cleared, the paths straightened, and the dust swept away. John the Baptist exemplifies this so well as he prepared the hearts of men for the coming of Jesus. He was God’s chosen vessel. But notice this: before God used John, He formed him in the wilderness.
Now, the question is not whether God wants to use you, but how suitable you are for His use. Suitability isn’t about perfection or eloquence, it’s about readiness, purity, and obedience. Therefore, Paul reminded Timothy and us that “in a great house, there are vessels of gold and silver, wood and clay… If a man purges himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified and fit for the Master’s use” (2 Timothy 2:20-21).
Perhaps God is refining you now through pressure, waiting, or correction. Whatever it may be, don’t despise the process; it’s preparing you for purpose. The Master is still seeking empty, available, and pure vessels.
Charge: When the Master comes, will He find you pure and usable?
