“When my soul fainted within me I remembered the Lord: and my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple.”
Jonah 2:7
There are moments in life when our strength fails, our hearts grow weary, and it feels as though hope is slipping away. Jonah found himself in such a moment — trapped in the belly of a great fish, with no way of escape. Yet, in that desperate place, he remembered the Lord and lifted his voice in prayer.
The beauty of Jonah’s story is this: even from the depths of the sea, his prayer reached the throne of God. This shows us that no situation is beyond God’s reach, and no voice is too faint for Him to hear.
When we call upon Him in faith, even in the lowest valleys of life, He responds with mercy and deliverance, and shows up strong and mighty. Dearly beloved, call upon His Name. He answers and saves at all times and in every circumstance.
Charge: Are you overwhelmed today by trials, disappointments, or fears? Remember that the Lord is near to all who call upon Him in truth.
