“But the eye of their God was upon the elders of the Jews, that they could not cause them to cease, till the matter came to Darius: and then they returned answer by letter concerning this matter.”
Ezra 5:5
Have you noticed how a mother hen watches her chicks when they are out looking for what to eat? The people of Israel were rebuilding the temple when opposition rose against them. The adversaries wanted to stop the work, but the Scripture says, “the eye of their God was upon the elders of the Jews.” This means God’s watchful care ensured the work continued despite human resistance.
As children of God, we are never abandoned to fate or left vulnerable to the schemes of the enemy. God’s eye represents His presence, and His protection. Nothing escapes His attention, whether our struggles, our tears, or our victories. When He sets His eyes upon you, no power can hinder His plan for your life.
You may face opposition in your career, family, ministry, or personal life. The enemy may try to intimidate or discourage you, but take comfort that God’s eyes are on you. His gaze shields you from harm and ensures His purpose will stand.
Charge: Trust in His watchful presence today.
