“Take my yoke upon you and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart and ye shall find rest unto your souls.”
Matthew 11:29
Humanity has never been at its best in worship of God, and in service to man since the early fall in the garden of Eden; hence, there is a need to learn from the Maker Himself on how we ought to live. The best man has done is to try, by being logical about his understanding of the ways of God, which has resulted in a different perception of God, yet leaving behind more void that cannot be filled by the solutions offered.
God, sensing this gap, beheld man’s strife and sought to present a formidable and most acceptable way to worship Him. It is to this end that Jesus was offered firstly as a herald, and then a propitiation for the sins of the world.
Jesus, as demonstrated in the Scripture lived a life void of sin as ‘a man’ through the Holy-Spirit, presenting to the world the best way to live; putting on godliness and character, He defied all odds and set before us a template and track record—a better approach to God, which He commanded us to learn from and emulate, if we must live blamelessly and triumphantly.
Charge: To learn from Jesus is to become like Him. It is the best way to dwell in safety while we’re here.
