“[21] And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you. [22] Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary.”
1 Corinthians 12:21-22
Just as the human body is made up of various parts, each with its unique function, the body of Christ is composed of diverse members, each with its own gifts and contributions. Understand that your role in the body of Christ is important, regardless of how visible or prominent it may seem.
Just as our Bible verse reminds us, every office and role in the church is vital to the body of Christ. The work of the ushers is no less important than that of the evangelists, nor is the service of the stewards inferior to the oversight of pastors and overseers. Each calling and responsibility functions together as one body, contributing to the growth and progress of the church.
Therefore, all must be accorded the same honour, respect, and value in God’s house. Value the contributions of fellow believers, acknowledging that their roles complement yours. Collaborate and support one another, celebrating the diversity of gifts and functions within the body.
Charge: Learn to value and recognise the role and contributions of others in the body of Christ.
