“[30]But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. [31] And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?”

Matthew 14:30-31

Peter walked on water until he took his eyes off Jesus. The moment he shifted his focus to the wind and waves, fear crept in, and he began to sink. It wasn’t the storm, but the loss of focus that overpowered him.

There will be unexpected bills, broken relationships, health scares, and disappointments. The wind will howl, and the waves will rise. But when our eyes are focused on Jesus, we will walk above what should have drowned us. His presence may not always calm the storm instantly, but it gives us the courage and clarity to walk through it.

Peter’s cry, “Lord, save me!” was met with immediate grace. Jesus didn’t lecture him; He lifted him. That same hand is stretched toward you today. So, don’t let fear steal your steps. Don’t let distractions sink your faith.

Charge: No matter how strong the storm, you’re stronger when your eyes are on Him.
