“The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the LORD of hosts.”
Haggai 2:9
Have you encountered loss in any area of life? Are you bothered about past seasons of glory? The children of Israel were once in such a predicament. Those who saw the first temple in its beauty and glory before it was destroyed, compared it with the newly rebuilt temple and wept because it wasn’t up to the standard of the first temple.
In His mercies, the word of God reassured them that the new temple would be greater than the first. We might be comparing our present times with previous seasons in our lives, but the promise of God to us is a glorious finishing filled with prosperity and peace. Whatever we have lost, the Lord promises us restoration and transformation. The glory of God will be greater now than ever before.
As we continue to believe in God’s promises for our lives, we walk into a new season of greater things. Those requests we presented before the Lord are granted according to His will this season. Beloved, with God, all things are possible, and you need to trust that He is working all things out together for your good.
Charge: Like David, believe, trust in Him and encourage yourself in the Lord.
