There’s something about what God has for us that belittles every other option. But do we understand how grand the inheritance the Lord has for us is, and how we can enter into our eternal inheritance?
The encounter between the rich man and Jesus in Matthew 19, tells us that we must obey God’s commandments. We must have a heart posture that is willing to leave all for Christ—no matter how important, good, or nice that thing may be.
There are many things that we have received on earth that the Lord has given to ensure that we enter into the inheritance reserved for us in heaven—the grace of the Lord Jesus, the gift of the Holy Spirit, the joy, peace and love that comes from God—these are what we have received by being co-heirs with Christ. Do not take what you have received for granted, lest it appears that what you received was in vain.
Charge: We have an inheritance, let us labour to maximize all that we have received and ensure we enter into it.
