“Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.”
Proverbs 22:29
There are principles that govern the earth, such as the law of sowing and reaping, the law of seedtime and harvest, and the law of giving. These principles don’t disappear when we become believers, and it’s essential to apply the right principle to every situation. For instance, prayer is powerful, but prayer without obedience often yields no fruit.
Similarly, if opportunity arises but isn’t met with hard work and diligence, it will not produce the full fruit it could have. The law of excellence and value is built through intentional work and consistent diligence, and without these, we limit our advancement in our chosen pursuits.
We are children of the King, and as such, diligence, excellence, and commitment are marks of our identity. Let’s always remember to embody this.
Charge: Do not act slothfully.
