“He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, it is folly and shame unto him.”
Proverbs 18:13
The above scripture is one that must be imbibed in every of our daily endeavors. Wisdom is important in everything and every situation we find ourselves, so we don’t later to regret many of our actions or speeches. It is good to speak, but it is even better to listen more before speaking.
A wise fellow does not hurry out to judge a matter but listens and considers all necessary and reasonable facts available. Many have spoken out of place in very dicey circumstances simply because they only heard one side of the matter, and thus endured painful outcomes.
We must learn from these as believers and not speak or make decisions on any matter until all facts have carefully been considered. The warnings of today’s scripture are timely, as we now find ourselves in a world of social media littered with so many unfounded claims. Also, in a time like this, we must study and learn from Bible characters who portray high levels of wisdom. One of such is King Solomon (1 Kings 3:16-28).
Charge: Do not judge a matter until you have given it a fair hearing.
Further Study: Daniel 6:14; John 7:51.
Stay blessed.
