“But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.”
James 1:4
Patience is a virtue which has its own rewards. It is the ability to wait calmly and persevere. Patience is one of the fruit of the Spirit which must be possessed by every believer.
Lack of contentment, selfishness, and impatience are the major causes of evil in our society. People want to get wealthy doing nothing over a short period of time.
Even the rich want to get richer at all cost, not minding the lives endangered. Being rich or wanting to be rich isn’t a sin, but the sin comes from the state of the heart pursuing the wealth and the means in which the wealth is made. Getting rich quick shouldn’t be our concern. Rather, we should work and pray, and allow God bless us at His own convenient time. Remember, “The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, And he addeth no sorrow with it.”
Proverbs 10:22 KJV
In our Bible passage for today, we are encouraged to allow patience have its effect on us. Thereby having the ability to persevere and be perfect. In every aspect of our lives, we cannot do without patience. In our waiting periods, we need it; in our marriage, in dealing with our children, at work, and even in dealing with the society, we need patience. Ask for the grace to be patient and let it have it work in you.
