“Moreover from the time that I was appointed to be their governor in the land of Judah, from the twentieth year even unto the two and thirtieth year of Artaxerxes the king, that is, twelve years, I and my brethren have not eaten the bread of the governor. But the former governors that had been before me were chargeable unto the people…but so did not I, because of the fear of God.”
Nehemiah 5:14-15
Today’s scripture relates to this verse of the Bible: “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.” Proverbs 29:2.
God has placed every believer in different fields to be leaders who lead others in the fear of God. As God’s representative, our lives should reflect godly characters, virtues and attitudes worthy of emulation. Remember Paul’s testimony as a righteous leader, “Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.” 1 Corinthians 11:1
How are you ruling as a leader? As a righteous leader, you should lead people by being passionate about their well-being. Every act of selfishness, greediness and wickedness should not be exhibited by God’s children in any leadership position. May the Lord help us to walk in the fear of His as godly leaders in Jesus’ name. Amen
