“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”

Hebrews 4:16

One of the works finished on the cross is access to God‘. While Christ was nailed to the cross, something significant happened. The curtain in the temple seperating the holies of holies from the main temple tore into two. This symbolises direct access to God. This is why we can approach God individually without the help of a priest.

The holies of holies is a sacred place that can only be accessed by the high priest once in a year. Before the access, enough sacrifices must have been made to atone for the sins of the people and the priests. The high priest goes into the holies of holies with a chain tied around him, this was to drag him out in case he dies.

This is to tell us how particular God was about holiness. Thank God for Christ who came and took away the veil. Now, we no longer have to be scared of approaching our Father in the place of prayer. It’s left for us as believers to get hold and make good use of that which Christ has made available for us through His birth, death and resurrection.

Jesus is our High Priest and He is ever ready to help. All you need to do is to approach the throne of grace with a concrete heart and humility. Ask Him for Mercy and watch Him arise for you.
