“No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.”
Isaiah 54:17
It’s always beautiful to read the promises of God in the Word. However, before we personalize them, we must give much thought to whether we truly believe them.
The Bible states that our faith (what we truly believe) is often displayed by our works (what we do). Consequently, if we indeed believe in the promises stated in the Word, there are things we must consciously do.
The very first step is to be a true child and servant of the Lord. To be a child of God, you must accept the sacrifice of His son on the cross. A servant of the Lord is usually one who is fully yielded to the ways, plans, and voice of the Lord. He has a zeal to do the work of the Lord and allows nothing to take the place of God as first in His life.
It is also vital to note another characteristic of the servant of God – his righteousness is of God. Here, no self-righteousness can be present, because it is upon God’s Grace that His servant counts on to live out the God-life.
