“But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.”
Micah 5:2
This verse is significant because it not only prophesies the birthplace of Jesus, but it also emphasizes His kingly status and eternal existence.
Furthermore, the use of Bethlehem as the birthplace of the Messiah also reflects the humble nature of His birth. Bethlehem was a small town, not a grand city or palace, and Jesus was born in a manger, not a royal court. This highlights the fact that Jesus came to earth not as a conquering king, but as a servant, willing to humble Himself and suffer for the sake of humanity.
As a child of God, today’s scripture encourages us to look beyond the environment, circumstances or demeaning situations. We are assured of an eternal excellency with God which is far above human comprehension. Our way of life should be patterned as demonstrated by Jesus Christ who is a more sure word of prophecy.
As believers, we have been called to exhibit the life of Christ’s humility. May the Lord instill in us the humble nature of Christ, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Thought for the day: Greater is He that is in you, than He that is in the world. You may be little, but you have a big God.
Stay blessed.

Amen
The Birth of Jesus Christ demonstrated that good can come out of seemingly negative situations and that we shouldn’t allow our backgrounds to limit us.
Thank you.
