“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before.”
Philippians 3:13
In this passage, Apostle Paul made us to understand that as Christians, what matters most to keep pressing on to till we reach the joy which is laid before us.
In this world, there are so many things that will try to draw us back. Our past will keep beckoning on us to return. The devil will keep tempting us with the pleasures and concerns of this limited world. But as children of God, we mustn’t be moved by the affairs of this world. We must beware of the thought of our mind, lest we think that the little things we are doing are in God’s favour. The moment we think we’ve done enough, is the moment we allow pride and succumb to spiritual death.
No matter how long or short our journey is in this world, we must never get weary of loving and serving our Father, showing His love to people and preaching the gospel: these are what make God happy.
In our race, we mustn’t allow anything debar us from pressing on. “I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians3:14
