“The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.“
Zephaniah 3:17
Do you know that the Lord delights in you? Have you considered that times of fellowship excite the Holy Spirit because He genuinely desires to converse with you? God misses you when you stay away. He smiles when you turn to Him and honoured when you lean entirely on Him.
It’s easy to overlook these aspects of God because we often focus on His judgements. But we do not have a Father who doesn’t care about us. He is compassionate and merciful. He rejoices over you. He cheers for you when, with your hand in His, you become all that you are meant to be. He loves you. He’s happy when you come to Him. And He anticipates the joy that radiates on your face when you unwrap a gift He has prepared for you.
Don’t let sin or the fleeting pleasures of this world consume your heart to the point where you lose sight of your Father’s love. However, even if you’ve faltered, our passage says, “He will save you.”
Jesus loves you, dear Christian. Return to His rejoicing presence quickly.
