“Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?”

Ezekiel 33:11

Napoleon once wisely observed, “The world suffers a lot. Not because of the violence of bad people. But because of the silence of the good people.”

Considering this quote alongside our Bible text, we should ponder: What if the turmoil in the world isn’t solely due to the actions of the wicked, but rather, it’s aggravated by the silence of the righteous, the peacemakers, the proclaimers of God’s word—us, the evangelists.

The Bible makes it clear that God desires the repentance of the wicked over their death (John 3:16). When we evangelize, even if we don’t persuade everyone, we’re sowing seeds of knowledge and understanding. Over time, these seeds can sprout into transformative shifts in people’s beliefs and behaviors (Ezekiel 33:11).

Furthermore, as God’s people, we are mandated to share His word (Matthew 28:19-20). This commission is vital because as we evangelize, we’re imparting something we deeply care about, offering others a chance to perceive the gospel through our perspective. This opens the door to a better world here on earth.
