“And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.”
Matthew 8:2
The number one secret to answered prayers is to submit to God’s will, find out what He is willing to do at the moment, believe He can do it, and then ask Him to do it.
However, we often make a mistake where we are not even sure we are entitled to ask because we are not sure whether it is something God will do for us. This is wrong.
To discover the things that God wants to do in our lives, it is as simple as studying the Bible, and discovering His promises. God wants to bless you ( Deuteronomy 7:13). God wants to give you Joy (Psalm 16:11). He is willing that no man should perish (John 3:16), He does not want you to remain in sorrow or poverty or depression (Matthew 11:28-30). He wants to heal you (Jeremiah 30:17).
But knowing these promises is very different from coming to the place where that leper was where He came confidently to Jesus and said, I know you can do this.
So, discover His promises. Know the things He has already said He wants to do for you. But as simple as this is, it is not as easy as reading the words only. Meditate upon them. Let them become life to you until you get to the place where you understand that the Lord really does want to do these things for you. Then walk boldly to Him and ask.
Prayer
1. Lord, I choose to believe all that you have said in your Word. Help me to walk in their realities in the name of Jesus.
2. Lord, teach me to seek your face for that which you are set to do in my life so that I might align in my asking. Amen.
