“Whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.”

James 4:14

“Christian, walk carefully…” This injunction given by a song writer is something we must never lose sight of. The Bible says we must watch and pray, and if we want our life to count for anything in eternity, we cannot afford to waste our time here on earth.

Walk circumspectly, redeeming the time. We must also understand that while we have all the time in the world to wait on Jesus, we do not have all the time to dwaddle if He has said “go, serve, preach and so on!”. We must live on earth with a consciousness that our time here must count for the purpose God put us on earth for.

It is very recommended that we go to God each day with this question. “Teach me how to spend this day. Teach me how to spend my life.” For every second of our life must be spent with utmost wisdom in the recognition that our life must count for eternity.

Prayer

Lord, I hand over my life to you. Teach me how I must live each day. Take away the stubbornness of my heart that hinders me from doing your will. Father, please reawaken the church that we may become more conscious of our eternal goal than ever.
