“No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.”
Matthew 6:24
Ninety-nine percent of God and just one percent of sin is not what God expects from us. After all, if one submits to God to that extent, why is not okay to do just a little diversion so it doesn’t feel like you’re out of trend?
Have you not read? You cannot serve God and mammon. It’s either you will cling to one and abandon the other. In other words, it’s not okay to do just a little bit of sin. If you’re for God, you must resolve to be in Him 100%.
How about in decision-making? Can you use 99% of God’s word and direction and just 1% of human wisdom? At least, so it will not look like you’re too spiritual? Can’t you be just a little human so nobody takes you for a fool?
The truth is that God designed His ways so that it is only a 100% surrender that yields a 100% victory. So, it is way better as a Christian to stick to God all the way. Don’t be one leg in and the other leg out. You cannot play “in case this does not work out, let me have another option” when it comes to God. He requires that we put all our eggs in His basket. ALL OF THEM.
Remember, Mark 12:30 says, “And you shall love the LORD your God with ALL your heart, with ALL your soul, with ALL your mind, and with ALL your strength.’ This is the first commandment.”
Prayer
- Lord help me to surrender all to you without holding anything back no matter how difficult it is.
- Dear Father, please help me to learn to be a fool in the eyes of men as long as it means I’m following you 100%.
