“Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.”
2 Timothy 4:2
Fred once questioned whether Dapo’s devotion to Jesus had become excessive. He advised his friend to tone down the constant “God over everything” attitude. Fred suggested that if Dapo reduced the intensity with which he evangelised, he might attract more contracts. Dapo, however, remained calm and unwavering, explaining that Jesus was the reason for everything in his life and that Christ’s sacrificial love had brought him salvation and deliverance.
Their conversation was interrupted when Fred received a phone call. As he listened, his expression suddenly fell. With a heavy sigh, he explained that the truck transporting his goods had been ambushed and everything in it had been stolen. Seeing his friend’s distress, Dapo immediately prayed with him, entrusting the situation to God and believing firmly that all that had been lost would be restored.
Later that night, Dapo’s phone rang again. This time, Fred was shouting with joy on the other end of the line, announcing that everything that had been stolen had been recovered. Overwhelmed with awe, he declared that from that moment forward, he would tell everyone about the wondrous works of God.
Charge: Beloved, let us also tell the whole world about the gospel of our Lord Jesus.
