“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”
Acts 1:8
Born in rejection and poverty, abandoned at eighteen months on a rubbish heap by his father due to illness, he grew through hardship and exclusion. One night, he had a vision of God telling him to take the gospel to the nations, promising signs. From that moment, he ran, travelled village by village, boldly preaching Christ, performing miracles.
He preached in over 100 countries with miracles following. His motto was: “Evangelism Our Supreme Task.” His focus was souls. That man was the late Archbishop Benson Idahosa. His story reflects the calling in Acts 1:8, where the Lord promised power through the Holy Spirit so that believers might become witnesses unto Him.
The Christian life is not merely about receiving spiritual experiences; it is about becoming a living testimony of Christ’s transforming grace. The Holy Spirit empowers believers not only to speak about Jesus but to embody His love everywhere they go.
Charge: You are called to be a witness where you are planted. Your past does not disqualify you, nor does your struggle silence your testimony. When the Holy Spirit rests upon a life, weakness becomes a platform for God’s strength.
