“For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.”
Galatians 5:13
The gospel of Christ not only redeems us from sin but commissions us to draw others into that same liberty. It wasn’t given to exalt us, but to reveal our dependence on grace. When truly received, it produces attraction, not oppression, and Scripture is fulfilled when the unsaved desire the light that saved us.
Paul exhorted believers to live at peace with all men. Salvation is an invitation to serve, not to dominate. Any gospel that teaches lordship over others is falsehood. Refuse the feast of mockery offered by small minds, lest your garment be defiled.
It is easier to serve people into the sheepfold than to preach them into it. And that’s because, humans are moved by what they see, and not merely by what they hear. As believers, people want to see us live the life, then they would be sure that what we have is tangible enough to be obtained without being compelled.
Charge: God has given you the grace and power to live in absolute love and humility that compels people to Christ. Don’t disappoint Him!
