“And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm.”

Acts 28:5

Paul had survived a storm and shipwreck, only to be bitten by a venomous snake while helping others. Those watching expected him to collapse and die. Instead of panicking or wailing, Paul calmly shook the beast into the fire, and suffered no harm.

This teaches us that not every attack requires tears or fear. Some burdens, offenses, and unexpected trials are meant to be shaken off, not carried. What was sent to destroy Paul became powerless because he refused to hold on to it.

The enemy’s power often depends on our response. When you refuse to panic, complain, or internalize the attack, you deny it the ability to poison your spirit. Faith shakes off what fear would hold onto.

Charge: Don’t dwell on what attacked you; shake it off and keep moving.
