“For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself.”

Romans 14:7

Life and death are not isolated experiences but are connected to God and others. We have been strategically positioned by God to show others the only way that leads to life everlasting. Our blessings, either in the form of promotion, increase, abundance and every other amazing thing we acquire, were given not for self-gratification but for the benefit of people.

As believers, our lives are not just about ourselves, but about serving and honouring God alongside other people. Even Joseph understood this about his God-given assignment and faithfully aligned in obedience to God throughout the difficult journey. Life is not self-centred; true greatness is found in living beyond oneself. Our choices should reflect God’s will, not just personal desires.

Our actions and inactions affect those around us, so we should live with consideration for others. Live with selflessness, seeking to bless others and anchor your identity in Christ, knowing that both life and death are in God’s hands. Ultimately, our goal is to bring glory to God in all we do. By doing this, people naturally tend to draw messages and lessons from us faster than written words. We are the greatest Bible they read.

Charge: The greatest life is not one lived for self, but one lived unto the Lord and in connection with others. True greatness is found in surrender, service, and belonging to God.
