“And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? If the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.”

1 Kings 18:21

Beloved, the Scripture warned against lukewarmness. You are either cold or hot, not both. You are either on one side or the other, not on the fence (in-between). Who do you pledge your allegiance to?

Life constantly pulls us in different directions—career ambitions, family expectations, societal pressures, and personal desires. Yet, Jesus makes it clear: divided loyalty is impossible. Allegiance to God requires exclusivity. Every day, we face choices that reveal where our allegiance lies. Do we prioritise convenience over conviction, popularity over purity, or wealth over worship?

God’s call is not to a half-hearted devotion but to a wholehearted surrender. He doesn’t ask for a portion of our lives; He asks for all of it. And when our allegiance is fixed on Christ, we find freedom from the exhausting tug-of-war of competing masters. Our identity becomes secure, our purpose clear, and our joy unshakable.

Charge: When you give God your full allegiance, you will find life, peace, and purpose.
