“I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.”
Psalm 32:8
When a toddler begins learning how to walk, at first, they grip any support tightly, eyes wide with both curiosity and fear, with their little legs wobbling. Their parent kneels a few steps away, arms open, eyes fixed with love and assurance. “Come to me,” the parent calls gently. The child hesitates, then takes one small, shaky step, and another, until they finally reach the waiting embrace.
This is how our heavenly Father leads us step by step. Life often feels like a long road of uncertainty. We cling to what is familiar, afraid of falling and failing. Yet God promises, “I will instruct you. I will teach you. I will guide you with My eye.” His loving gaze is always on us, His hand ready to steady us when we stumble.
Walking with God is rarely a giant leap; it is a step-by-step journey. We don’t need to see the full path ahead before taking a step, but we can trust that His eyes see what we cannot. Like a child learning to walk, we only need to focus on the next step, confident that His loving presence surrounds us.
Charge: Remember, you don’t have to know the whole journey; you only need to trust the next step with Him.
