“Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.”
2 Timothy 4:2
The apostle Paul’s charge to Timothy is a timeless reminder for every believer: the work of God is not seasonal. We are called to be ready in every circumstance—whether it is convenient or not—to share the gospel, live the truth, and encourage others in the faith.
Doing God’s work is not limited to the pulpit or church gatherings. It includes daily conversations, acts of kindness, standing for righteousness, and pointing people to Christ in both word and deed (Colossians 3:17). We may face times when the world is receptive and other times when hearts seem hardened, yet our responsibility remains the same: be faithful.
Sometimes the work may involve correcting with truth, other times encouraging with love, but always with patience and sound doctrine.
Charge: Be faithful to do the Lord’s work in every season of your life.
