“For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring.”

Isaiah 44:3

One of God’s promises to His people is abundance. Not just material increase, but the refreshing abundance of His Spirit and His presence in our lives.

Dry seasons come to us all. Just as rain restores dry ground and makes it fruitful, God promises to pour out His Spirit upon those who are thirsty for Him. At that time when life feels empty, when our strength wanes, or when our efforts seem fruitless, God’s word reminds us that those dry places are not the end. They are the very grounds upon which His floods of blessing will flow.

This promise of abundance is generational as clearly seen in our Scripture text. God’s abundance is not meant for us alone but for our children and generations to come. His Spirit ensures that His blessing outlives us.

Charge: Beloved, do not settle for dryness when God has promised rivers. Lift your heart in expectation today.
