“Turn ye not unto idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods: I am the Lord your God.”

Leviticus 19:4

Deep within the heart of man is a longing for meaning and fulfilment—a void that neither wealth, power, nor even relationships can satisfy. Beloved, God’s command is clear: there must be no substitute for Him.

Idols may not always be carved images; sometimes, they are the silent obsessions that capture our hearts. When our confidence rests more on our bank account than on God: when we crave human approval more than divine acceptance, we are crafting idols in modern form.

God alone is sufficient. He is the source of life and hope. Every substitute eventually fails, but God remains constant. Choosing Him above all else means placing our trust in the One who never disappoints.

Charge: Examine your heart today. What competes with God’s place in your life? Lay it down.
