“And they straightway left their nets and followed him.”

The decision to follow Jesus has been made by many people, and the Kingdom of heaven still rejoices over every soul won. Yet, it is surprising to know that some people suddenly decide again to turn back from following Jesus. Are you like such people? Do your actions or behaviour show you are a member of such a group? Or are you fully on the Lord’s side?
We read more than enough examples of believers who chose to follow Jesus and never turned back in the Scriptures. These ones went all out for God, forsaking all for the gospel of Jesus Christ. The question is, what made them hold on to the faith unwaveringly? Even when they encountered life-threatening situations and unending persecutions, they were rugged about their faith in Jesus.
Their love for Jesus was so strong that nothing in this world could separate them from following the Lord. Your love for Jesus determines how far you can go with Him without turning back. A very important warning from the Scripture in Luke 9:62 tells us that he who follows the Lord and turns back is not fit for the Kingdom of God.
Charge: Today, decide to follow Jesus and walk on the paths of righteousness unwaveringly.
