“The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.”

John 4:15

The encounter of Jesus and the Samaritan woman at Jacob’s well marked the significance of the Eternal thirst quencher. This was a woman whose life had been marked by brokenness, shame, and unfulfilled longing. While she was only concerned with her thirst from a physical standpoint, Christ exposed a much deeper and real one—a thirst of the soul.

Many of us are just like the Samaritan woman. We try to quench our inner thirst with relationships, achievements, entertainment, money or success. But nothing earthly can satisfy the eternal longing placed in our hearts. We are created for God.

Today, Jesus offers us living water that doesn’t run dry—this is His Spirit, His life. This is a life that doesn’t need a refill. When we drink from Him, our souls find rest, purpose, and satisfaction that the world can’t offer. The woman’s encounter at the well changed her forever. She came for water but left with living hope. Are you drawing from a temporary or eternal source? Return to the Living Water today.
