“And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever.”
John 14:16
When we received the promise of the Comforter, it was not as a guest but as a permanent resident in our spirits. But are we still accommodating Him? When we accommodate the Comforter, we do not only make room for Him in our hearts, but also in our decisions, desires, and daily living. Many times, distractions, sin, and spiritual negligence may want to drive Him to the back seat or no seat at all.
The Holy Spirit is gentle. He stays where He’s welcomed and honoured. We must not only enjoy the idea of His presence but also be sensitive to His correction and whispers. Ask yourself: “Is my life still a place He delights to dwell in? Or has compromise made Him a stranger in the house He was invited into?”
Today, reflect on how you’re hosting the Holy Spirit. Have you made space for His voice, or have noise and distractions taken over? Are you obeying His impulses, or brushing them aside?
Charge: Ask the Lord to renew your sensitivity and hunger for the Comforter. Yield to Him afresh. He’s not just a helper—He is your lifeline.
