“Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.”
Romans 1:21
There’s one thing we don’t realize. And, it is that God has given us EVERYTHING. He created this world, He created you, He’s the One who is able to make you live and also kill. He’s the One who holds our lives in His hands, without Him we are nothing—we are dead. So we have a lot to be grateful for, just our breath is enough to be grateful.
Then, He took it a step further in giving His son to die for us, because he didn’t want us to perish. Dear Christian, there’s a lot to be grateful for. It is so absurd for anyone to see everything on this earth, and decide that there’s no God or worse, that they do not need to honour and obey Him as God. But, look how that turned out in our passage today.
They glorified Him not as God, neither were they thankful, so they became vain and their foolish hearts darkened. Never let this be said of you, let it not be said of you that you do not recognize all that you have to be grateful for. In everything give thanks. And, honour the One who has given you life.
Charge: Honour the Lord and set your heart on Him by being thankful.
