“But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.”
2 Peter 3:18
Our spiritual growth in Christ requires dedication and consistency. As Christians, we’re called to grow beyond spiritual infancy—a process that starts when we’re saved and should continue throughout our lives. This growth comes from consistent actions, such as studying God’s word regularly. Often, a major barrier between knowing what to do and actually doing it is understanding how to go about it.
Growth in Christ requires His Word to dwell richly in you through consistent study of Scripture. Seek His approval for assurance and acceptance, rather than relying on validation from others. When challenges arise, turn to God instead of distancing yourself. Practice gratitude, even in difficult times, as it nurtures a heart of faith and dependence on God.
True Christian growth is continuous. Pray consistently, meditate on His word, and seek His presence daily. Growth doesn’t happen from reading the Bible once or praying only when you feel like it. It is cultivated through persistence, even in moments of resistance. Keep praying, keep studying, and keep seeking God, and through this process, you’ll experience a deeper relationship and steady growth in your faith.
Charge: We rarely grow in Christ during good times; rather, during difficult times opportunities for growth abound.
