“But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.”
James 3:17
As a counselor, I don’t rely on secular psychology to guide my clients. I have learned to depend on God’s wisdom to achieve results in counseling. One day, a young man reached out to me. He said, “My fiancée and I agreed to remain chaste until marriage. Along the way, I pressured her, and when she refused, I cheated. I felt guilty afterward and confessed to her. Now, she doesn’t want to marry me, even after consulting both our families and pastors. What should I do?”
By God’s grace, I offered him counsel through wisdom from above. He thanked me, even asking how I could come up with such advice. This was after I had spent three days in prayer, seeking the Holy Spirit’s guidance.
Beloved, the wisdom from above is peaceful, free from fear and anxiety. Cultivate intimacy with the Holy Spirit, read the Bible, meditate on the Word, and pray daily. With these practices, the wisdom of God will never be far from you.
Charge: The wisdom of God is ordained for our glory.
