“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
2 Timothy 1:7

To walk in love means to demonstrate God’s heart to those around us. It’s a call to show kindness, compassion, and understanding, even when it’s difficult. Love is the foundation of our faith, reflecting God’s own love for humanity. By walking in love, we become vessels of His peace and grace, and reflect the state of our mind. Walking in love promotes sound mind. A mind that doesn’t walk in love will accumulate bitterness, and eventually suffer spiritual, emotional, mental and physical death.

On the other hand, power is the strength to stand firm in our beliefs, to speak boldly, and to overcome challenges through God’s guidance. This power isn’t for self-glorification, but to uplift others and bring glory to God.

When we walk in love, power, and sound mind, we live out the fullness of God’s calling in our lives. However, before we can walk in love, we must first experience the love of Christ by accepting Him as our Lord and personal Saviour. By developing a keen relationship with God, we have easy access to the others.

Confession: Lord, help me to demonstrate your love and not to misuse the power given to me.

Further Study: Psalm 27:1, 1 Corinthians 13.

Happy new week.
