“For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:”
2 Corinthians 2:15
Beloved, “our lives are a Christ-like fragrance rising up to God”(NLT). God thinks of us as a fragrance that brings Christ to everyone. He helps us spread the knowledge of Christ everywhere, and this knowledge is like the smell of perfume.
For unbelievers, our lives should have such an attractive fragrance that draws them to Christ. Although they might revolt at first because the aroma of Christ—the love, faith, joy, peace and other fruits we exude—can be threatening to what they’ve always known. However, when we continually show them Christ, we show them that the love Jesus has for them is real. And for believers like us, the aroma we exude draws them further into sweet fellowship with Christ, and we are able to recognize ourselves as sons of God because our thoughts, words and actions align and reveal the love of Christ.
Are you with and in Christ? May you receive more of God’s grace to stay in Him till the end. Are you without Christ? God is calling you out of that darkness and confuse; that uncertainty and despair into His marvellous light. Repent and be saved! May we live for Christ at all times. Amen.
Charge: Friends, present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God.
